To realize this shine, the work of excavation in the tufo in such an impervious ground was grandiose: "it needed to cut tortuous and declive the road in the tufo and to sustain it with walls to make it sure and accessible", as the Chiarini annotated. It is sited to few footsteps from the sea and from the most famous beaches in the verdant hill of Posillipo, next to the subway and to the funicular of Mergellina to respectively reach the historical center and the commercial part in Naples, and finally to few meters from the seaport of Mergellina with the connections with all the islands of the gulf and the coastal sorrentina. | | Transportation | By car:
Coming from highway A1 continue straight on and take the tangenziale (by-pass), after 6 km take exit 10 Fuorigrotta and follow the directions for downtown (centro città); after the Posillipo tunnel, at the piazza Sannazzaro roundabout turn right, immediately onto via Mergellina. About 800 m on your right, is BBPosillipo.
By train:
We recommend that you arrive at the Napoli-Mergellina train station located near the BBPosillipo(a few Eurostar trains stop at this station). Exit the station and go right. Cross the square. If instead you arrive at the station of Napoli Centrale take subway line 2 going towards Pozzuoli. Get off at the fourth stop, Napoli-Mergellina (it is the same of the train service).
By plane:
The airport Napoli-Capodichino is about 12 km from the BBPosillipo. Take the Alibus shuttle-bus that departs every 20 minutes from the airport to reach piazza Municipio. Take bus line R3 and get off at the via Posillipo stop.
